In February 2023, on a trip to Europe, Amira Willighagen, along with her father Gerrit and her boyfriend DJ entered a church. Her father sat at the organ as DJ filmed Amira sing this spontaneous rendition of the Italian Christian carol Gesu Bambino on his cell phone.
A few months later, I had the privilege of meeting Amira in a small cafe in Rutledge, Georgia. The cafe was called Tomorrow Cafe. There I shot this two minute clip of her conversing with some people there about an upcoming performance as we waited for our food. She was 19 years old. She definitely had a vibe about her.
And here is Amira with her boyfriend at the time, DJ, who took the video of her singing in the church. She has a new boyfriend now.
